Scope:

  1. Determiningthe effect of exposure of safety glazing materials to temperature and humiditycondition by boiling

Principle:

  1.  Specimens are immerse in hot water and boilingwater for specified period of time and inspect bubbles and others defects

Apparatus:

  1. Theapparatus include two water baths, each of sufficient size to hold the testspecimen fully immersed vertically on edge for the duration test.

Samples:

  1. Threespecimen of size 300mm*300mm manufacture in a manner identical with impact testspecimens and of like thickness shall be tested.

  2. Thesespecimens may be cut from production samples of the size and thicknesssubmitted for impact testing.

  3. Forheat strengthened or toughened laminated glass, test specimen may be cut from asimilar original sheet of annealed laminated glass

Procedure:

  1. Immersethe specimens vertically on edge in a bath of water maintained at a temperatureof 66°C±3°C for 3 min

  2. Quicklytransfer the specimens to a bath of water maintain at boiling point. Immersethe specimens vertically on edge for 2 h

  3. Removethe specimens and examine for the bubbles and others defects
